🚀 OpenAI has announced that they will not be releasing an API for their highly anticipated Sora video generator due to overwhelming demand and existing capacity issues. During an AMA, Romain Huet, the head of developer experience, confirmed that after its launch, the company had to suspend applications for Sora. CEO Sam Altman expressed regret for underestimating the demand for this innovative tool. The company is currently focused on ensuring Sora's utility and safety while working closely with artists to develop new features. Security experts and security architects should assess the safety systems embedded in their products, how they can be tampered, and they should map threats that can tamper with the safety building blocks of their product and the right mitigations to secure them. Safety focuses on the potential result of an occurrence defined as a risk. Something will be identified as a Safety problem if there is an unacceptable risk of damage to people, property, or the environment. Safety (and Functional Safety) deal with random and unintentional events - accidents and failures where Security deals with intentional acts. It is not possible to be truly Safe without also being Secure. What does it look to be part of a #scale-up ? I think most out there do not realize the challenge of a team doubling in size every 6 months. Where at any given moment 1/3rd of the company has less than 6 months of presence in the business. It is still a mystery to me that we are making it work: - the culture is strengthening - new hires bring expertise and capabilities - company structuring is organic Where the stretches are : - early team members in hyper-demand - continuous re-alignment to working procedures (stop using email internally, adoption of fully async comms, documenting everything) - everyone has to grow their personal abilities FASTER than the company As we grow and I shift some of my time to work ON the company, rather than IN the company , I feel so blessed by all the experience made in my previous career - knowing "what good looks like" is such a superpower - and while I know some would like to test and try on every level, I keep reminding that we shall try and not spend cycle innovating on what is very well defined best practices (sales processes, revenue operations, company governance, IT and reporting). As the new year start I'm curious to find how we will embed new technology to keep our brains focused on customer value creation, and not wasting time on repeatable non-value add activities. Founder Mode will stay ON 💪 ... yes the picture is straight from our HRIM application today.

Check Your Accounts: 10 Billion Passwords Exposed in Largest Leak Ever. The article says : "check your passwords". I tell you : "still using password only?". It's not a blame it's like, if you use only a password it means you don't care and you are not worried about that platform being hacked. 10 billion stolen passwords become useless if you use notifications, MFA, FIDO, passphrases with two or three layers of authentication. Today is the first OpenAI DevDay for this autumn. No new models are expected, but OpenAI has promised to introduce some long waited features to APIs. Les Etats-Unis de Trump veulent devenir une "superpuissance du Bitcoin" avec la création d'une réserve nationale de Bitcoin. Croire que la blockchain est une technologie qui demeurera inviolable ... naïf voire dangereux lorsqu'on veut y investir plus de 100 milliards de dollars ? « En juillet 2024, la sénatrice Cynthia Lummis, fervente partisane des crypto-monnaies et défenseure de l'adoption de Bitcoin aux États-Unis, a présenté un projet de loi ambitieux intitulé "Bitcoin Strategic Reserve". Ce texte vise à positionner les États-Unis comme un acteur majeur dans l'économie des actifs numériques en intégrant Bitcoin comme un élément stratégique de réserve nationale, à l'image de l'or ou d'autres réserves souveraines traditionnelles. Le 6 novembre 2024, la sénatrice a confirmé son intention de concrétiser ce projet en annonçant que les États-Unis prévoient d'acquérir 1 MILLION DE BITCOINS SUR UNE PERIODE DE 5 ANS, soit environ 200 000 BTC par an. Cette initiative, selon elle, permettrait non seulement de diversifier les réserves fédérales, mais également de renforcer la souveraineté économique des États-Unis face aux défis monétaires internationaux, notamment l'inflation du dollar et l'émergence de monnaies numériques étrangères. Ce projet s'inscrit dans une stratégie à long terme pour reconnaître Bitcoin comme une réserve de valeur durable et un atout stratégique dans le paysage financier mondial. L'acquisition d'une telle quantité de BTC constituerait une première historique et pourrait avoir des répercussions significatives sur le marché des crypto-monnaies, en augmentant considérablement la demande institutionnelle pour Bitcoin. En parallèle, cela renforcerait la position des États-Unis en tant que leader dans l'adoption et la régulation des technologies blockchain. Great security guidelines for generative AI systems published by the French National Agency for the Security of Information Systems (ANSSI - Agence nationale de la sécurité des systèmes d'information). The guidelines cover securing the training, deployment, and production phases of AI systems by using network segmentation, dedicated hardware, and access controls to prevent data leakage and unauthorized access. When working with the Cynomi platform and my customers, very often, the questions I ask are triggering lot of notes on their end. When we get to ask : "Does the company take active steps to protect passwords, prevent exposure of encrypted credentials and mandate updates from secure sources only?" Very often, customers are not aware of all the system hardening options (neither do I, from top of my head). This is why these exercises, while offering a security roadmap at the end, is often an eye opening on the scope of the possible security enhancement for an organization. The "hint" coming with this one is as follow (just in case you wonder) : Active steps include implementing a best-practice password policy and Local Admin Password Solution (LAPS), configuring DNS Zones to enable secure updates only, and prohibiting XML files containing 'cpassword' in System Volume (Sysvol).
